The group is led by a physiotherapist and focuses on movement that is adapted to individual abilities, helping you feel comfortable and confident at your own pace.
What the group offers
The sessions are designed to support both physical and emotional wellbeing. They can help you to:
- Stay active safely and comfortably
- Build physical confidence over time
- Improve strength, posture and flexibility
- Take part in gentle, guided movement
- Enjoy encouragement and connection with others
The group also offers the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation, which many people find supportive and reassuring.
About the sessions
The exercises are based on Pilates-style movements and are adapted to be completed in a seated position.
Each class focuses on gentle movement, posture, breathing, strength and flexibility, all guided by a physiotherapist to ensure safety and suitability.
Sessions last for 1 hour and take place in the Farleigh Hospice gym at our hospice in Chelmsford.
For many participants, this group becomes a valued part of their week, supporting both physical wellbeing and social connection.
Who can attend?
The group is suitable for people living with a life-limiting illness who would benefit from gentle, supported exercise.
