Corporate volunteering

Volunteering at Farleigh Hospice can bring your company numerous benefits and enable your staff to enjoy enriching experiences. Many of our volunteering opportunities offer team-building activities and the chance to raise your company’s profile, all whilst helping to make a positive difference to the lives of thousands of people.

How volunteering benefits your organisation

  • Promotes staff bonding and relationship-building, particularly across departments that do not usually work together
  • Develops a sense of achievement through doing something worthwhile for an established local charity supporting the community
  • Volunteers leave feeling a strong sense of accomplishment and motivation, which can benefit workplace relationships
  • PR opportunities available to promote involvement internally and externally

How volunteering benefits Farleigh Hospice and your local community

  • Helps us complete jobs that would otherwise take days or weeks
  • Supports the development of stronger community and business links
  • Brings fresh skills, perspectives and ideas to our work
  • Helps raise awareness and understanding of the hospice’s work and purpose

What we can offer

Opportunities include gardening projects, skills sharing, decorating, supermarket bag packing, supporting our hospice shops, and helping to set up or support our events (usually weekends).

Volunteers are always given a warm welcome and are greatly appreciated.

Typical volunteering days run from 10am–4pm, though we can be flexible depending on your team’s needs.

On the day

  • Refreshments are provided at the Hospice
  • Volunteers are asked to bring their own lunch, or can purchase lunch from our Courtyard Café
  • We carry out all risk assessments
  • A full safety briefing is provided before the day begins
