Volunteer in our shops

Our shops rely on dedicated volunteers to help raise vital funds that support hospice care across mid Essex.

No retail experience is needed, as we provide full training, guidance, and a friendly team to support you.

Ways you’ll make a difference in our shops

Our shop volunteers help with:

  • Serving customers and providing excellent service
  • Sorting, pricing, and preparing donations
  • Visual merchandising and creating attractive displays
  • Stock rotation and keeping shelves organised

Why volunteer in our shops

  • Flexible shifts to fit around work, family, or other commitments
  • Opportunity to gain skills and experience in retail
  • Work as part of a welcoming, supportive team
  • Make a real difference by raising funds for hospice care

We’re looking for people who share our values

Volunteering with Farleigh Hospice is about more than tasks or roles. It is about how you approach and support others.

We welcome people who want to give their time in a way that reflects our values of care, compassion and respect. Full training and support are always provided, so no previous experience is needed for most roles.

What matters most is that you:

  • Care about making a positive difference in your local community
  • Are reliable and willing to give your time when you can
  • Enjoy working with others as part of a supportive team
  • Bring kindness, respect and compassion to what you do
  • Are open to learning and getting involved

No matter your experience or background, there is a place for you within our volunteer community and every contribution helps us continue to provide compassionate hospice care.
