Bereavement can bring a whirlwind of emotions, and each person’s experience is unique. Our bereavement teams are here to provide information, support and guidance to help you navigate the impact of grief.
We are here to support you following the death of someone important to you, recognising that bereavement affects everyone differently and that there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Our CIRCLE bereavement service offers information, emotional support, and guidance to help you understand and live with grief, with support tailored to your needs and provided at a pace and in ways that feel right for you.

We understand that everyone experiences grief differently. Our support is designed to meet a range of needs and may include:

- Community bereavement support groups
- A professional consultation to explore your bereavement needs
- Group support
- One‑to‑one bereavement support or counselling
- Signposting to other services where needed
Understanding grief and finding support
Clear information and reassurance can be an important first step after a bereavement. Our information and resources are designed to help you:
- Understand common reactions to grief
- Make sense of difficult or unexpected emotions
- Find practical ways to cope day to day
- Feel reassured that your experience is valid
You may find it helpful to explore these at your own pace:
You Can Do This: A Guide to Living with Grief
One of our key resources is You Can Do This: A Guide to Living with Grief, a workbook offering structured information, reflections, and practical exercises to help you better understand and manage your grief.
You can also browse our bereavement information and resources section, which includes Links to National Bereavement Support organisations, leaflets, guides, and suggested reading on topics such as coping with anniversaries, special days, and Christmas.

Community Bereavement Support Groups
Some people find it helpful to connect with others who have experienced loss. Our Community Bereavement Support Groups offer informal, supportive spaces where you can meet others who understand what you are going through.
These groups aim to:
- Reduce feelings of isolation
- Offer understanding from others with lived experience
- Provide a safe space to talk, listen, or reflect
You are welcome to attend in whichever way feels right for you, whether that means joining in or simply listening.

One‑to‑One Support
Regrettably, we are currently unable to accept new referrals for the adult bereavement service while we carry out a review of our services.
We understand this may be disappointing and appreciate your understanding. The website will be updated as soon as the review is complete.
Other Ways to Access Support
While referrals are on hold, you may wish to consider:
- Speaking with your GP, who may be able to advise on local support options
- Accessing national bereavement organisations listed within our resources
