Farleigh Hospice is a high performing organisation providing specialist palliative and end of life care for people with life limiting illness in the Mid Essex region. Our team at Farleigh has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the community, and we are now looking for highly motivated Community Fundraiser to join our Fundraising team.

Every day, Farleigh Hospice provides compassionate care and support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement across our local communities. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to make this possible.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and relationship-focused Community Fundraiser to join our growing fundraising team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire individuals, groups and organisations to support Farleigh Hospice while helping to deliver a varied portfolio of community initiatives and fundraising events.

If you're passionate about building relationships, creating memorable supporter experiences and making a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As one of four Community Fundraisers, you'll play a key role in generating income and developing long-term support for Farleigh Hospice.

This is a wonderfully varied role where you'll work with supporters organising their own fundraising events and challenges, help deliver some of Farleigh's fundraising events and develop relationships with community groups and local organisations.

No two days are the same. You could be attending a community group meeting, supporting volunteer tin collectors, cheering on challenge participants or meeting a supporter who's chosen to fundraise in memory of a loved one.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building and nurturing relationships with community supporters, groups and organisations.
  • Supporting and stewarding participants taking part in Farleigh-owned events and third-party challenge events.
  • Helping to deliver fundraising events and activities.
  • Encouraging individuals and groups to organise their own fundraising initiatives.
  • Providing exceptional supporter care, ensuring every supporter feels valued and inspired.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across fundraising, marketing, retail and hospice services.
  • Representing Farleigh Hospice at events, presentations and networking opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase participation, income and supporter engagement.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporter communications using our CRM system.
  • Supporting the achievement of team income targets and strategic objectives.

You'll join a passionate, ambitious and supportive fundraising team at an exciting time for Farleigh Hospice as we continue to grow our reach, strengthen community connections and deliver unforgettable fundraising experiences.

You will be someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and building meaningful relationships. We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Experience in fundraising, events, customer service or relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to achieving targets.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding supporter experiences.
  • Confidence in representing a charity and engaging with a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience of events or volunteer management would be advantageous but is not essential.

We offer a great working environment, a competitive pay and benefit package, flexible working and a strong team to support you.
