Emotional and practical support

We support both the person living with a life-limiting illness and the people close to them, offering care, understanding and practical help when it’s needed.

How we can support you

Caring for someone with a life-limiting illness or supporting a family member can be emotionally and practically challenging. At Farleigh Hospice, we are here to provide practical and emotional support in ways that suit your needs and at your own pace.

Our Family Support Service works in the community, visiting people in their own homes, as well as at the hospice.

Support is tailored to your individual needs and can include:

  • Information about life-limiting illnesses and the impact on you and your family
  • Counselling and emotional support
  • Advocacy and practical support, including housing, funeral planning, and future care planning
  • Signposting to financial and welfare advice
  • Support over the phone, via video, or in person
  • Support one-to-one, as a couple, family, or in a group session
  • Specialist self-management courses for carers and family members
  • Opportunities to access peer support with people in similar situations

For more information, or to access support, call our clinical advice line on 01245 455478 and ask for the Family Support Service, or email [email protected].
