Julie and Garry’s Story

With the support of Farleigh Hospice, Julie was able to spend her final months at home and die with dignity, as she wished. After her death, bereavement counselling and volunteering with Farleigh helped Garry navigate his grief, rebuild his confidence and find hope for the future.

When Dominic was diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), Farleigh Hospice stepped in to support him and his family. From navigating essential services to funding an innovative driving simulator that keeps his passion alive, Farleigh’s care helps Dominic find joy and purpose in the face of a challenging illness.
Laura and Terry’s story
Laura and her husband Terry shared their experience of living with motor neurone disease (MND) and the support they received from Farleigh Hospice during a time of significant change.

On the day Laura was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease at age 41, she and her husband Terry were also unexpectedly evicted. Facing terminal illness and homelessness at once, Farleigh Hospice stepped in to completely rebuild their lives. Farleigh secured them an accessible home, managed their benefits applications, provided vital physical therapies, and even hosted a beautiful wedding vow renewal in the hospice sanctuary.

After a courageous battle with breast cancer, Daryl wished to spend her final days at home surrounded by family. Her husband, Ian, shares how Farleigh Hospice's "exemplary, priceless" care made that wish possible.
