Help hospice care live on
Hospice care is there for people and families at some of the most difficult times in life. It helps people live as well as possible, for as long as possible, and provides care and support at the end of life.
Hospice care is everything you’d expect, and everything you wouldn’t
When Charlene was too unwell to take her children to the zoo this summer, the team helped bring the zoo to her instead. She was able to enjoy a joyful day surrounded by family and friends, with a special animal visit brought just for them.
At Farleigh Hospice, all our care is free of charge. But it is not free to provide.
As part of the national This is Hospice Care campaign, we are asking you to consider leaving a gift in your Will, so this care can continue for future generations.

Why gifts in Wills matter
While hospices receive some NHS funding, much of the care we provide is funded by our community.
Gifts in Wills play a vital role in making hospice care possible, helping to fund around one fifth of hospice income nationally.
By leaving a gift in your Will, you can help ensure that:
- people receive compassionate, specialist care
- families are supported through some of the hardest moments in their lives
- hospice care continues to be there for everyone who needs it
What your gift makes possible
Hospice care is not just about the final days of life. It can support people over months or even years, helping them manage symptoms, maintain independence, and feel more like themselves.
It also supports families and carers, both during illness and through bereavement.
Across the UK, hospices support more than 310,000 people each year, but this care depends heavily on charitable support.
Joyce’s wellbeing story
Joyce from Chelmsford found support through our Living Well Programme, helping her live well day to day and feel more prepared for the future.
But this vital care would not exist without your support.
Why Cliff is leaving a gift to Farleigh in his Will
Cliff’s wife Susan was cared for at Farleigh’s Inpatient Unit, where staff and volunteers made her comfortable and supported them both during her final weeks.
After this experience, Cliff has chosen to leave a gift to Farleigh in his Will so others can receive the same level of care and expertise.
This is Hospice Care
It highlights the difference hospice care makes for local people and families, and how gifts in Wills help make this possible.
