Roger Chaplin and his wife, Mary, were very surprised to find out that he’d won £2,000 in the Local Hospice Lottery.
Roger explained, “I’ve been playing the lottery by direct debit for a while and, to be honest, I’d forgotten about it, so it was exciting to hear that I’d won the top prize! I’ll be 80 soon, so Mary and I are planning to spend some of the winnings on a weekend away to celebrate.
“We‘re happy to support Farleigh Hospice as Mary worked in palliative care before she retired and our family has had support from Farleigh in the past. It’s an important charity and we’re impressed with the care that it gives to local people.”
