This funding is dedicated to capital expenditure, so can only be used for improvements to our buildings, equipment and infrastructure – not day-to-day running costs.

Thanks to this investment, we’re launching several exciting projects to enhance the care we provide and strengthen our connection with our local community.

Expanding our compassionate care

One of our most impactful projects is the addition of three new ensuite bedrooms to our Inpatient Unit at our hospice in Broomfield. This will allow us to support more people whose complex needs are best met in a hospice setting or who wish to spend their final days in comfort and peace at Farleigh.

We are also transforming the hospice’s Courtyard Café and upgrading its 20-yearold kitchen facilities. This space is a vital part of daily life at Farleigh, providing nutritious meals and a comfortable place to meet and eat for our patients, families, staff, volunteers and visitors.

The refreshed layout will give a more versatile area where we can also welcome Friends of Farleigh, supporters and the wider community to connect with and support our hospice care. Look out for more details in the new year, including what’s on the menu!

The grant will also fund:

  • Upgraded IT equipment to help our staff spend less time on admin and more time with patients.
  • Enhancements to our garden spaces, creating a more peaceful and therapeutic environment for everyone who visits.
