Our three hospices all provide compassionate care to people in our local communities who are living with life-limiting conditions, so they can enjoy the best quality of life possible and die with dignity.
Improved access to hospice education
Farleigh, St Elizabeth and St Helena Hospices are now working together to provide an extensive range of education, training, learning and development sessions – both online and in person – in palliative and end of life care.
These sessions will be available to our hospice staff and volunteers, as well as healthcare professionals across mid and north east Essex and Suffolk through to Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
Mandy Summons, Head of Hospice Education, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Farleigh Hospice into Hospice Education. By working together, we can broaden access to quality palliative and end of life education, sharing expertise across our teams, and supporting staff and partners with learning that is practical, inclusive and responsive to need.
This partnership strengthens our ambition to deliver consistent, best practice palliative and end of life care education. Together, we’ll expand learning opportunities and build a stronger community to improve support for people living with life-limiting illness.”
Memorandum of understanding
We recently signed a joint memorandum of understanding with St Elizabeth Hospice and St Helena Hospice to confirm our new partnership in Hospice Education.
Farleigh’s Head of Nursing, Inpatient Care and Education, Kate Tighe, said, “We are excited to be working alongside St Helena and St Elizabeth Hospices, led by Mandy, in this innovative new partnership. Together we will shape education that is relevant, practical and supportive of palliative and end of life care for the benefit of our local communities.”
