During September, solicitors across mid-Essex are donating their time to write Wills in return for a donation to Farleigh Hospice, as part of the charity’s Make a Will Month.

Farleigh Hospice has been providing hospice care, free of charge, to people affected by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement across mid-Essex for the past forty years.

Many adults do not have a Will, which could lead to the state deciding what happens to their assets and who will care for any children they have when they die. The charity is encouraging people to make sure that they have an up-to-date Will to give them peace of mind, knowing that their loved ones will be provided for as they wish after their death.

Farleigh is working with nine solicitors who have offices across mid-Essex: Backhouse Solicitors Ltd, Birkett Long LLP, Bright and Sons Solicitors, Cunningtons LLP, Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP, Gepp Solicitors, GoodyBurrett LLPS, Taylor Haldane Barlex Solicitors LLP and Tees Law.

Supporters can have their Will written or updated in return for a minimum donation to Farleigh of only £125 for a single Will or £160 for a pair of mirror Wills, which is a saving of around half of the usual cost.

Appointments are available throughout September and the charity is encouraging people to book now to avoid disappointment.

Michelle Martin, In Memory, Legacy and Major Donor Relationship Officer for Farleigh Hospice, said, “Thank you to all of the solicitors who are taking part in Make a Will Month by writing and updating Wills in return for a donation to Farleigh - which is half of what people might usually pay.

“It is easy to take advantage of this generous offer – simply choose a participating solicitor from the list on our website and contact them now to book an appointment in September.

“Getting your affairs in order will give you peace of mind, plus your donation will help Farleigh provide physical and emotional care, free of charge, to help our patients live as actively as possible to the end of their lives.”
