I would like to thank you all for your continued support and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Welcome to the Winter issue of The Lantern.
We’re delighted to share with you that Farleigh has won a Hospice UK award for Innovation in Partnership working. This national recognition was for the success of our new clinical and community service model in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
We have started work on our strategy for 2022-2026 and beyond. In November we held a series of virtual conversation events to hear your thoughts and ideas on shaping the future of Farleigh. The feedback was really useful - thank you to all who took the time to participate. If you didn’t get a chance to join us, we’d still love to hear your views, please complete our short online poll at farleighhospice.org/conversation to have your say.
We also held our Annual General Meeting in November, where we said good bye and shared our thanks to our outgoing Chair, David Blainey and formally welcomed our incoming Chair, Keith Spiller. We also welcomed Nic Crisp as our Vice Chair. Congratulations Keith and Nic on your new roles!
We have been fortunate to have been awarded a grant by the Essex Freemasons via the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) to enable us to launch a new project delivering support to local care homes. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for their generosity, without their help we would not have been able to make this happen.
I’d also like to say a big thank you to Birkett Long for the delivery of an unexpected surprise for our staff and volunteers in early November.
Thanks also go to our amazing supporters, especially our #TeamFarleigh marathon runners and to everyone who took part in Cycle for Life, collectively you all raised thousands to help us continue to provide care and support to our community.
Finally, I would like to thank you all for your continued support and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
