In memory of Keith Andrew
Tuesday 27th April
- The Lantern
We were saddened to learn the news of the passing of former Farleigh Hospice Chair of Trustees, Keith Andrew who passed away at the end of 2020.
Keith was undergoing treatment for bladder cancer and unfortunately contracted COVID-19 during a stay in hospital. He sadly passed away on the
27 December.
On behalf of the hospice, our current Chair Dr David Blainey pays tribute to a much loved member of our Farleigh family: “I first met Keith when I joined as Trustee back in 2013. He was the Board chair at the time. He had been associated with, and a strong supporter of, Farleigh Hospice for many years. He was instrumental in raising the finance that built the new Farleigh Hospice, and had been a Trustee for a long time, then Chair since 2012.
His experience, in business and management, Local Government, and the health sector, was evident in all the work he did in support of Farleigh. Whether he was supporting events, running meetings or just interacting with supporters, I will always remember his ability to get the best out of people. He proved the perfect chairman – always willing to listen, but equally able to lead when needed. He was something of a role model, for me at least and I suspect for many others.
Farleigh, along with the many other organisations to which he contributed, will remember him with great affection and respect.”
Keith’s family will be holding a memorial event in the summer.
