Farleigh Hospice is actively recruiting for four key roles including a newly created registered nurse plus (RN+) position, as well as registered nurses (RN), healthcare assistants and trainee healthcare assistants.
The positions will be advertised from Friday 12th March on www.jobs.nhs.uk, the Farleigh Hospice website at careers.farleighhospice.org and on Farleigh’s social media pages.
Director of Care Matt Sweeting said: “We are hoping to open our IPU in summer 2021 and are looking for skilled registered nurses and healthcare assistants to be part of the exciting relaunch of our specialist unit. When the pandemic hit we changed the structure of how we work, creating a new patient care model which we want to be able to continue once the IPU reopens. To do this, we need to expand our care team and introduce a new mix of skills to meet the increasing complexities of our patient’s needs. This is why we have created the exciting new registered nurse plus role, in addition to recruiting more registered nurses, healthcare assistants and trainee healthcare assistants to add to the team. If you are a motivated, forward thinking, talented individual interested in delivering excellent palliative care within an inspiring team, then we would love to hear from you!”
The hospice provides specialist support to patients and their families in the community via its multidisciplinary locality care teams, and its IPU.
Farleigh’s 10-bed IPU provides holistic care for patients with both malignant and non-malignant life limiting illnesses and their families. This includes symptom control, psycho-social and spiritual support for patients who are admitted for symptom control, specialist palliative rehabilitation and end of life care. When the IPU reopens, the hospice also plans to provide care for patients with complex nursing needs such as non-invasive ventilation and tracheostomy care.
