Farleigh Hospice has launched a new helpline designed to support the community of mid-Essex through the COVID-19 pandemic.
People can call Farleigh on 01245 457 300, 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm. The telephone service is open to everyone and offers emotional support, practical assistance, information, and advice, plus details of local and national organisations providing relevant help and support.
The helpline is manned by experts from teams across the hospice including Family Support, Bereavement, and specialists from our Inpatient Unit and Day and Therapy team. Calls of a clinical nature will be transferred to our clinical advice line.
Alison Stevens, Chief Executive of Farleigh Hospice said: “At Farleigh Hospice we understand the stress and anxiety everyone is facing during these challenging times and we want to be there for our community. Through our helpline, we are able to provide information and advice, a listening ear and help people navigate the range of services that are being offered by organisations and charities both locally and nationally.”
Farleigh Hospice continues to play an instrumental role in protecting and supporting the community during these unprecedented times. Our Farleigh team are working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing additional support within the community and providing hospice care within people’s homes. The amazing nursing team is helping those who are most vulnerable and in their last few weeks and days of life. They are preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and ensuring where possible people are with their loved ones during their final hours.
