Could you sell stamps?

A big thank you to Brian and Pauline Littlefield who have been fundraising for Farleigh for over three decades, raising over £100,000. Their support has simply been amazing!

Brian has spent the last 25 years sorting and selling the stamps that are donated to us. He plans to step down from this volunteer role in February, so we are looking for someone to take over stamp sales from him.

Brian explained, “I was visiting the hospice when they first showed me the stamps they had been given and how much a dealer was willing to pay for them. I knew I could make more money, so I’ve been selling them for Farleigh ever since.

In the last year alone, £5,700 has been raised from stamps, so it is an important source of revenue for the charity. People donate them at the hospice building in Broomfield and at the Farleigh stores and they are passed on to me to process. I sort and value them, then put them into neatly labelled bags ready to sell. Presentation is the key to getting a good price for them!

They are then sold in the Farleigh stores. They can also be sold on Facebook Marketplace and at local philatelic societies and stamp fairs.

This volunteer role would suit someone who knows a bit about stamps and has good attention to detail with plenty of spare time to spend on this.”
